Hi I'm Mike Wells.
I'm from Kiama on the south coast of New South Wales, Australia
I've been riding a surfmat for all of..oh.. two months. I'm a complete novice. This is the first surfcraft I've ever really ridden (since i just moved to the coast).
I stumbled on surfmats by accident, picked up a 4GF RT and love it! I've since been given a bodyboard, a shortboard and a longboard by concerned friends. They don't quite understand that I ride the mat by choice. Everything else feels slow and cumbersome. (plus the mat is perfect to take on a motorbike.
Thanks Ramsnake for the blog, it has been really helpful, I hope the forum takes off

Welcome to the wonderful world of mat riding and very concerned friends! The response to the forum has far exceeded my expectations already and I am confident it will grow steadily in to not only a place to talk mats buts also a comprehensive resource for newbies such as yourself.
